Photographing your pieces
Clear, well-lit photographs help Elemi understand each garment and the details that make it distinctive.
Lighting
Use soft daylight near a window when possible. Avoid harsh flash, strong direct sun and deep shadows.
Background
Choose an uncluttered background that lets the garment stand out. A real wardrobe setting is fine when the item remains easy to see.
Angles
Start with a centred front view. Add the back, label, texture or special details when they carry useful information.
Flat lay, hanging or worn
Lay the item flat, hang it or photograph it worn. Choose the view that shows its shape most clearly.
File size and format
Use JPG, PNG or WEBP. Images may be up to 10 MB; a reasonably detailed photograph gives the best view of fabric and construction.
Framing and cropping
Keep the whole garment in frame with a little room around its edges. Check that sleeves, hems and shoes have not been cropped accidentally.
